Our story
From a small kitchen in Watertown to our home on Mass Ave
Home Taste started in Watertown, cooking the food we grew up with: hand-pulled noodles, rou jia mo, and dumplings folded the family way. The Boston Globe called it “a Chinese taste of home” — which is exactly what 家乡味 means.
In August 2018 we moved up the road to 1312 Mass Ave in Arlington, bringing the same recipes and the same hands. The noodles are still pulled to order, the dumplings are still pleated one by one, and the chili oil is still made in-house.
“Home taste” is the closest translation of what we aim for — the flavour of food made by someone who cares whether you have seconds.
